Name:
James Patterson

Nickname:
Jamie (only by people close to him)

Age:
17

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Clique:
Fourth- Rock Bottom

Likes:
||Swimming||Reading|| Rain|| Thunderstorms|| Singing|| Listening to music|| Being with friends|| Being alone|| Pizza|| Spending time with his dad|| Laughter|| Ice-skating|| Sugar|| Cherries|| Instrumental music|| Meditation|| Detective novels|| Fun|| Night|| His Dad|| His friends||

Dislikes:
||People insulting his Dad||People insulting his friends||The Elite|| Corruption|| Authoritarianism|| Despair|| Mean-spiritedness|| People being humiliated for no reason|| Tomatoes||

Fears:
Losing his dad- His dad is old, but not that old. Still, he is kind of frail at the best of times and really, ever since he can remember, it was just the two of them together.

Heights- James maintains that it's not heights he's afraid of so much as falling and hitting the ground at breakneck speed and breaking every bone in his body.

Hobbies:
Swimming- James' dad has sometimes joked that he should have been a fish and that's, perhaps, not far from the truth. He is the best swimmer in school and would be the swim team's captain if it weren't for the fact that the ranking system even colors the faculty's perceptions, not that it's surprising, considering they were part of it too.

Reading Detective Novels- James always enjoyed good detective stories. His powers just happened to be a happy coincidence. His favorites happen to be the classical Sherlock Holmes novels, though, as a kid, he read both the Hardy Boys and the Series of Unfortunate Events novels.

Singing This is a rather secret hobby. Mostly, James just sings to himself or when there's no one else around. He doesn't really think he's that good, truthfully.

Walking in the rain
- Perhaps it's just his affinity for water, but James has never minded getting caught in the rain. Some days or nights, he just likes to walk through the downpour.

Powers:
Truth Inducement- James is able to force someone to tell the truth to the best of his or her ability, at least as long as the person doesn't successfully resist his powers, which simply requires enough willpower. Still, James is able to tell when someone is intentionally lying to him and, in normal conversation, people tend to relax and let things slip they normally would not.

Weakness:
People with a sufficiently strong will can resist James' power and, pressing with his power can easily tire James out depending on the duration as well as the difficulty of the use of his power. People can also circumvent it by telling a half-truth and it requires some thinking on James' part on whether they used this loophole or not.

Strengths:
Swimming- As stated above, James is an excellent swimmer. He can probably swim faster than anyone else at school and works as a lifeguard during the Summer which, if things were normal, would probably have made him popular.

Critical Thinking- James is an excellent critical thinker. He is quite able to look at problems from different angles and come up with solutions to them whether it be unexplained events or people just being people.

Singing- James may not think so, but he is rather good at singing, able to switch tone and tenor quite easily without killing a note. He is somewhat self-conscious of this so he usually sings alone.

Flaws:
His Dad- James doesn't really care too much about what others think of him. After all, he can't really sink lower thanks to the rank system. Still, he is quite defensive about what people say about his dad and what his birth meant for him.

His Temper- James has a temper which features prominently when he sees people being mistreated. He can bear insults against himself well-enough, but his personal loyalty and his distaste for watching others suffer causes him to act impulsively.

Being Impulsive- James doesn't necessarily make many long-term plans or really thinks things through too much, which can cause annoyance on his father's part. James can do things or throw himself into situations without thinking too much about the consequences.

Personality:
James pretty much wears his heart on his sleeve. It might be a side effect to his powers, but James finds that he simply can't lie that often to people. Sure, he can keep a secret. He'd never betray another person's trust. However, James never bothers to hide what he thinks about anyone or anything. He doesn't bother to hide his opinion on you, whether favorable or unfavorable. This might not be such a good idea as his opinions often clash with the status quo of the school. He dislikes the hierarchy system which, in his own words, basically means that the strongest students are put on top with the weakest on the bottom. It reminds him too much of Social Darwinism, which he disliked learning about in history.

James is personally loyal to the people who are close to him. He wouldn't hesitate putting time, money, effort, and risk to himself in order to help people he cares about. He is close to his dad and a little bit protective of him due to his age and the way the town sees him. Politically, he is libertarian and doesn't hide that he doesn't really trust the government not to lock up the whole town for military research. He is mildly religious, but really thinks it's more spiritual to just lay in the pool and meditate/pray, though he goes to church to please his dad. He never went through the typical rebellious teenage phase. He didn't see the point in that.

James absolutely adores music and bodies of water. His fondest memories are of a concert in Los Angeles that he managed to save up to go to. The ocean is beyond anything he can imagine. He also enjoys mystery books and movies. He was obsessed with the Series of Unfortunate Events books as a child and he has a habit of trying to figure out what he sees as other peoples' mysteries, though he tries to temper this with a reminder for himself not be nosy. James is an impulsive person and tends to say what's on his mind and do whatever seems like a good idea at the time. He also has a bit of a sarcastic wit, though never cruel or vindictive. James does okay in school, but is, on average, a B student with a few A's thrown in.

|| Open || Loyal || Impulsive || Protective||

History:
James' father, Henry Patterson, was an older gentleman when he unexpectedly had a son. Henry owned the town's pool and rec center which was reasonably popular among the small town's youth and he was moderately well-off. Then, as cliche as it sounds, a new, younger woman moved into town. Henry was smitten, they married, and James' mother divorced him for his money and ran, leaving the older man heartbroken. Thankfully, though he lost the house, he kept the pool and rec center and was able buy a smaller one for himself when his ex-wife dropped by 9 months later with James. This, of course, made Henry the laughingstock of the town as Benjamin, like many small towns where everybody knows everybody, loves to gossip. Nonetheless, Henry didn't really care and James grew up happy with a loving father.

When he heard the tale, James decided that his mother was simply a bitch, though his dad forbade him from calling her thus. This was one of the few areas of disagreement between father and son. James grew up around water and his father often showed him his powers of manipulating water or aquakinesis. It was a surprise when James' powers manifested one day when he thought the teacher was lying about why he was late in elementary school, revealing an embarrassing secret. Still, James rather liked his power and he still does, even if the power doesn't really help in the After School Club.

Currently, James has a few friends and is content with his lot, though he worries about his father, who is in his 60's and still active along the pool. Business with the old rec center and the pool haven't been their best in the past few years, though he and his father get by, even if the business is no longer the cool place to be. James has a few friends at school and he is hoping to earn a scholarship from his swimming ability in order to get into a college.

Other: Anything else you want to add.

So begins...

Benjamin
Mid-afternoon, Friday 16th of August

Image

A light breeze rolls off the lake beside the town of Benjamin, offering a small break from the hot sun above. For those students stuck inside, the have only a few more minutes until the bell rings marking the end of the school day and the start of the weekend.
Students also find themselves looking forward to the weekly meeting. The After School Club is due for a gathering. A few hours after school most students will make some excuse to their parents and make their way to the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. There challanges will be made, some will wake away as winners and others might find themselves further down the social ladder than when they entered the warehouse.

Abigail Porter

Abigail Porter sat in class, her attention on the small, balding man that was trying to lecture the room full of students on the properties of the fundamental forces. He had already given the class a stirring introduction to electromagnetism and no doubt next week would be filled with strong and weak nuclear forces. Today, however, was dedicated completely to gravitation, a force that Abby knew intimately well. Physics had always been an interesting class, or at least Abby thought so. Many of Benjamin's inhabitants had powers that let them defy the very rules that Physics was trying to teach. Abigail always enjoyed seeing the teacher try to explain around the peculiar abilities, making exemptions for the talents. Nevertheless Abby always made a point of learning the lessons, failure was hardly something she wanted.

Even so, as the teacher droned on Abby found her mind wondering to tonight's gathering. She was quite content with her current position, number two, so she doubted that she would challenge Ozzy tonight, but it was always interesting watching other fights. Whenever anyone from the Elite's was challenged it was always useful to pay attention, watching how her fellow Elite's fought was very informative and would help Abby form a partial plan on how to deal with them if they ever chose to fight.

The loud buzzing of the school bell brought Abby's attention back to the present. The teacher began to shout the weekend's assignments over the loud sound of scrapping chairs, but gave it up as hopeless as conversations cropped up and his voice was muffled out. Abby picked up her books, arranging them carefully in her arms. She left the classroom with the crowd and began to make her way towards her locker.

Being an Elite had its perks. Many of the lower students moved out of her way, leaving Abby with a clear path through the crowded school corridors. Of course there were always those who either chose to ignore the hierarchy or simply didn't seem smart enough to get out of her way. Abby was climbing down a set of stairs when a younger students pushed past her, his elbow catching her painfully on the upper arm and sending her books flying. Pursing her lips to stop herself from shouting at the younger student Abby held up a hand, palm facing vertically outwards. Her falling books stopped their descent, freezing in midair. The student froze too, caught in a bubble of zero gravity. His excitement for the weekend, and most likely tonight's meeting, was easily visible and quickly turned to a look of shock as he was slowly spun around to face Abigail.
"If you're going to run in the corridors, you had better watch where you're going." Abby told him. She held out her arms and let her books float into them. The student was still floating inches above the floor in Abby's cloud of zero gravity.
"I... I'm s..sorry" He stuttered, glancing nervously from Abby to the ground just out of reach. Not wanting to cause more of a scene than she already had, Abby let the boy go. He landed on his feet and seemed to shrink back against the wall as Abby passed.

She reached her locker a moment later without incident and quickly opened it, placing the books she didn't need inside and taking out those she would need over the weekend. Around her everyone seemed to be buzzing about the weekend. Abby smiled, she too was looking forward to a few days to relax in the sun, but first came tonight.

Zack Hooke

Image
Outfit

"Keep your knees up Hooke! Stay awake!" The harsh voice of Benjamin's gym teacher was having little effect on the teenage boy. Zack liked most sports, however gym class was not something he generally enjoyed. Or at least not when he was being forced to run around the track under the heat of Benjamin's summer sun. He could also feel the increasing anger radiating from the large gym teacher as Zack slowly jogged the last leg of the track. He didn't understand why he was the one being targeted, after all there were others who were still behind him.
"Come on Hooke! Don't fall behind!" She shouted again. Zack felt himself slowing down, if only to spite the teacher. He could feel her anger increase exponentially as his pace slowed.
"Come on miss, it's almost the weekend." Zack told her, "And it's too hot to run any faster." He had to admit that the teacher was exceptionally good at controlling her anger. He could feel it spike as he spoke and yet there was no visible sign present.
"Hooke..." Her warning was enough though to let Zack know that it was probably time to lay off. He flashed her a cheeky smile before picking up the pace. Apparently satisfied she went to go harass some other poor student, leaving Zack alone to finish his run and then head for the showers.

Zack quickly entered the male locker room and Zack grabbed a towel before headed into the showers. Ten minutes later he reappeared, smelling faintly of peaches and looking as fresh as if he hadn't just been running. The bell rang just as he was stuffing his damp towel away. Zack picked up his sports bag and made his way out of the showers. He considered stopping by his locker to pick up some books but decided against it. Instead he headed out to the school front where he took a seat on the rails and waited for his friends to come out.

He would see them tonight at the Club, but Zack was a social person. He wouldn't want to waste the few hours between now and the start of the club alone. Sure, he could do some homework, but he'd rather hang out with his friends. Besides, there weren't many days left in summer and he didn't plan on wasting the fine weather.

If there was one downside to being a genius, it was the sheer boredom that came out of attending a class presided over by a teacher who knew far less about the subject than he realized. It was supposed to be a "fun" class where they discussed the Vietnam War, but Ozzy had already taken studied the conflict in detail when he was 12. The United States and her allies confined themselves to fighting the last war through the destruction of the Vietcong with overwhelming force while the North Vietnamese focused on a propaganda victory in order to make the war unpopular at home. It was a fascinating lesson on how morale and will played into people's actions. Without confidence, even the strongest opponent could be defeated by a weaker one.

Soon enough, the bell range, the teacher reminding the class of the essay that was due this Monday, much to the dismay of the majority of the class. Ozymandias, naturally, had already finished his, but he refrained from turning his in at the moment. It wouldn't due to foster resentment among his fellow classmates. Ozzy had a reputation to maintain. He was the smartest student in school, but he wasn't a teacher's pet. In fact, he came off as believing that the teachers got in the way of his learning, which was true enough. Ozzy did his best learning on his own. He packed up his stuff, making polite small talk with those who greeted him even as he took in their interaction. Most were readying themselves for the weekend and, more importantly, the After School Club. There was always a certain eagerness, a juvenile fascination with who could beat up who in a fight. Really, the After School Club was necessary to serve as a release for these impulses.

Ozzy stepped out of the classroom, noting how the other students went out of their way not to run into them or hinder his movement. Really, he had learned to enjoy the perks of being the Elite. He did not need to waste his time maneuvering through crowds and, if he ever wanted something, he was sure to get it. Of course, not all students observed the etiquette, either through ignorance, accident, or deliberate rebellion. He smiled slightly when he saw a student lifted off the ground. He shook his head and approached his locker, which was conveniently placed next to Abby's. He had already packed everything he needed for the weekened in to his backpack when she opened her own locker.

"Really, Abby, I think you terrified the poor kid," he told her with a small smile.

Finally, class was over and James was among the first students to leave. James didn't really dislike school, but it would be a stretch to say that he liked it. He really had no clue what he wanted to do once he graduated other than getting a scholarship though swimming. Whatever career he was going to have in the future, he decided that it wouldn't be math. The problem were tedious, the teacher was unhelpful, and really, it felt like a convoluted game of marco polo.

Still, what the other students were talking about wasn't much better. Everyone was dropping hints about how hey were looking forward to it tonight. James didn't necessarily like participating in the system that kept himself and his friends at the "bottom", but he just had too much pride not to compete. He headed for his locker, only to see the rebel girl, Lexi, scare them away. He smiled slightly. Really, he suspected that most of her threats weren't genunine. Not unless you really pissed her off. Call him crazy, but he found the girl interesting. He couldn't help but wonder what she hiding behind that tough facade of hers. It didn't help that his locker was only a few lockers down from hers. He smiled at her when he passed her.

"I doubt they have STD's yet. Being horny doesn't make someone promiscuous."

Do you know that feeling when you know someone is about to say something to you that you didn't want them to say? You know, like something that would seriously irritate you because they are obviously minding your business when they should be minding their own? That was exactly how Lexi felt.

She had made it halfway down the hall when she heard: "I doubt they have STD's yet. Being horny doesn't make someone promiscuous." Lexi rolled her eyes before glancing at the male as he passed her, a curtain of jet-black silk whipping around her, and she eyed him with contempt. Well, halfhearted contempt. She didn't feel like being rude...well, at least not too rude. She had to deal with half of these people soon. Why not save some of it for later?

"And minding your business won't get you punched either," she snapped crossly. She muttered under her breath about ignorant and nosy people as she made her way outside. The warmth of the setting sun caressed her smooth alabaster skin gently, a light breeze sweeping across the campus. She was getting ready to start walking when another thought struck her. She yanked out her phone and began texting Amelia.
Headin 2 Club. Coming?

"I didn't hurt him. I just reminded him that it isn't safe to run through the school corridors."

Ozzy smirked slightly. It was like her to present one irritated act as a public service. He couldn't really blame her, though. Abby despised mess and disorganization and making her papers or books fly everywhere was one of the best ways to make her lose her temper. He chuckled at her next question, wordlessly sliding into step with her as they walked through the hall.

"I am quite sure that there are many who intend to challenge me. There are a few in particular that I..." he began, only to lose his train of thought from an unwelcome interruption. Ozymandias disliked Hal Humble. The boy was rude, loud, and had an unwarranted fixation on himself and Abby.

"I'm sure you're ready, right? Must be hard being at the top. You've gotta keep your eyes out for every possible threat. See you two tonight."

He laughed, his expression indulgent, like one he would give to a child that said something particularly clever, "I suppose it would be hard for one such as yourself."

When he and Abby were alone, his expression gave way to one of annoyance, "Misplaced bravado is tiresome."

Image

"And minding your business won't get you punched either."

"Where's the fun in that?"

James simply grinned at Lexi as he replied. He knew that inserting himself into her personal world was just asking for trouble, but there wasn't any other way to get her out of her shell. Besides, he could endure a few verbal barbs. He knew the line between annoying her and pissing her off enough for her to do something terrible to him. He thought so, anyway.

James entered the grounds, not too close to Lexi as he didn't intend to provoke her more, but still close enough to show he wasn't scared. He scanned the grounds for his friends from. He hated having his last class without the others in his clique. Fortunately for him, he spotted Josh. Unfortunately for them both, he wasn't the only. It seemed one of the Elites, Charley, had decided to ambush him. James did the only thing the occurred him: he ran over to the scene and mouthed off.

"Nice snake! I hope it compensates for your... unfortunate condition."

He coughed meaningfully. Okay, it wasn't an original insult, but it should be enough to make him lose his concentration.

Josh would unwillingly be falling sleep from a passing breeze, russling leaves and the warm sun hitting him from above, the vibrate green leaves patterned their shaped shadows on him lightly as he rested his head on the tree with his arms folded and one leg over the other.

He would sigh out slowly as he started to drift off, his head tipping to the left, the sun warming his face further...

Then a instant darkness hit is face, the yellowish orange colour from the sun as his eyes were closed blackened like he were in a pitch black room. At first he dismissed it, thinking it were just the sun being hidden by passing cloud, though they were few but then it hit him...

If the sun were behind a cloud the heat from it would be lesser and the breeze more nippy and so he opened his tired eyes just to jump and hit the back of his head on the tree from the shock he could in his dream like state, groaning from the pain for a moment only to see Charley in the distance and frown.

Though he didn't frown for long as the blackened presence continued to chase him and as he were to jump up and fling his leather satchel over his head with a panicked gasp and start to walk off in fear he had someone and he looked up...

It was James, one of his friends but they were more like brothers despite having no family ties and he heard him shouting at Charley and he just watch, his hands tightly gripping at the strap of his satchel, his knuckles white from the how tight he was holding it and he looked petrified on the spot but James seemingly relaxed him some what but not enough for his wheezy breaths to stop.

"Nice snake! I hope it compensates for your... unfortunate condition." He heard a voice yell. Turning, he realized it was James. "Yes. Because everything makes a connection to a man's dick size." he called out to him. He made the shadow snake break of into two, walking with it the farther it went. This second snake more or less disappeared from the eyes of the two boys and wrapped around so that it connected with Jame's shadow.

Still successfully having the original snake chase Josh, he allowed the other shadow to do one of his favorite tricks. The shadow around James' feet opened up and sucked James right into it. Popping him out into another shadow of a tree about 100 feet away from him and Josh. At this point, James should probably be very cold. He always was whenever he traveled by shadow.

This was actually the trick Charley had been working on. There had been many times where he'd gotten stuck in the ground trying to do it and there was always the possibility someone else could get stuck as well. Thankfully though, It seemed all of James popped out. This meant he was getting better. Which Charley loved.

"Now that the pest is out of the way." He said, turning to Josh, "Where were we~?"

Josh watched as Charley simply banished James from him and he turned to James which popped out from the shadow another tree casted onto the floor. ''J-James!? Are you okay!?'' He shouted in a panicked voice then he'd turn back and see Charley walking closer to him with his shadowy figure in front of him..''Where were we~?'' Was all Charley said with a smirk on his face much to Josh's fear.

Josh would just stare at the shadow and slowly at flinging the strap of his leather satchel over his shoulder with shaky hands then he'd slowly look at Charley, his tired eyes became wary and the pupils were pin sized holes. He would stand there trying to stand his ground, his chest getting tighter and tighter as the shadow got closer and closer and at the last minute...he started to run, fast..

Jason watched with a frown as Merida stormed off. She would most likely find her 'friends' and talk with them again. Why didn't she ever listen to watch he had to say? Jason honestly only wanted the best for her. 'You will regret this, Mer... You will see the light... I will make sure of that'. Jason thought, his eyes hardened. He clenched his fists tightly, bitter resentment swelled in his chest made it hard to breath. "Another argument? Maybe you should give her a bit of space, man," Jason jumped and looked at the direction he just heard the voice, hastily masked his face into a pleasant smile. "Oh, hello-" His smile dropped when he saw who had just talked to him.

Jason let the invisible mask on his face shatter the moment he realized no one was around to overhear him. "Milo..." He greeted tiredly and ran a hand through his hair in distress. He walked to his best friend and gave him a tiny smile. Many people had always wondered why Milo and Jason could be best friends. They were different in many aspects. One was honest and an open book, the other was a lying and manipulative bastard (Not that people could see that side of him...yet). One was easy-going, the other revengeful. It was a miracle they could get along at all let alone becoming best friends. However, Jason supposed it was the differences that drew them together, like the two poles of a magnet. Milo's honesty evened out Jason's lies and Jason's forceful personality made up for Milo's laid back nature.

And besides, Jason could never befriend a person like himself. He wouldn't be able to trust them and there would be no friendship beside mutual partnership, taking advantages of each other. Jason wouldn't be happy. "...Sometimes, I'm really jealous of you and your sis, Mil'..." Jay said, shooting another glance toward the direction where Merida had gone. "You have any tips to help me with...our relationship?" Jason asked easily, only half-joking. His shoulders slumped and he let out another hug sigh. "...Because I really need it right now..." he muttered quietly.

"Come on- wanna grab a bite before the club meeting?" Milo suggested and Jason immediately agreed, wanting to take his mind off the argument. He needed a clear head if he wanted to keep up with his mask. "Sure thing, bro... The usual place then?", Jason asked, the schoolbag was already in his hand. Well, he could use a good distraction, Jason absently thought.

'Some legends say the Yuki-onna, being associated with winter and snowstorms, is the spirit of someone who perished in the snow. She is at the same time beautiful and serene, yet ruthless in killing unsuspecting mortals. Until the 18th century, she was almost uniformly portrayed as evil. Today, however, stories often color her as more human, emphasizing her ghost-like nature and ephemeral beauty. She was known in Japan as the snow lady.''

Merida listened with poorly disguise interest. When Josh finished his explanation, Mer whistled and clapped her hands "Dang, how the heck can you remember all that stuff?...I mean, I can barely remember half of the things I read an hour ago..." She squirmed uncomfortably under Josh's stare and after a minute or so, he spoke . ''Okay, what is the matter? Don't tell me it nothing Mer, I know how you are feeling and I also know that only one person can make you so...angry...your brother.'' At the mention of Jason, Merida scolded. She didn't even want to talk about him.

"...It's nothing... He's being an asshole... as usual, you know...And 'sides, I don't want to talk about it." Merida pouted and hugged her legs closed to her chest. "I just want a normal relationship with him and not him poking his mutated nose into my business... Is that too much to ask?" Mer mumbled angrily, thinking of the threat Jason had made. She couldn't possibly tell her friends that, they would leave her. They all had seen the real face of Jason and they all knew that he could be a threat if he wanted to. What a bastard!

''We have time to kill and if I can make you feel better, it is good time spent. So?'' Josh pressed but Merida remained stubbornly silent. She didn't want to talk about it and there was nothing Josh could do to force the words out of her. After awhile, Josh started to doze off and Merida let him be. He seemed tired and she wasn't in the mood to talk anyway. Unfortunately for the duo, Mer's ADD chose that exact moment to show up and she couldn't just stay still anymore. "Go get a coke, will come back ASAP, Josh..." She muttered lowly so as not to wake Josh. She stood up, dusted herself and left.

When Merida arrived to the spot she had left Josh, two cokes in her hands, one for herself and the other for Josh, she saw a scene that nearly made the blonde hair girl dropped her drinks in shock. Standing just a few meters away from them was Charley Labelle - an Elite and he was... bullying her friends - James and Josh. The realization hit Mer in the face like a bucket of ice had been dumped on her. In an instant, Merida felt hot, shearing, burning rage filled her very core. No one hurt her friends without her permission.

"Stop that right there, asshole!" Merida yelled, the anger dyed her words into an angry growl. Suddenly, it didn't matter if she was facing an Elite while she was at the bottom of the ladder. It didn't matter that she would have to hear Jason nag for months about responsibilities and hot-headness. It didn't even matter if half of the town would know she was special the moment she used her power. All it mattered was that there was a threat to her friends' sake. Merida wouldn't stand by and watch.

She ran to James' place and shook him. "Jamie, are you alright? Did that asshole do something to you? Oh my god, you're so cold..." She muttered worriedly, her lips pressed into a thin line. She stood up, determination shone in her eyes as she unscrewed her bottle of water and dump the content into her palm. The moment her fingers touched the water, it turned solid. She could use a solid diamond weapon right now. 'I'll probably be exhausted the moment the club starts' Mer thought before shaking her head. Better be exhausted than letting a pea-sized dick bullied her friends.

"Why don't you take someone your own size, fucker!?" Mer snarled, noticing that Josh was running. That's good, his power couldn't be used to defense himself this instance. Only Merida had the power to do so. And she would be damned before she failed her friends. With that thought in mind, Merida stood a little straighter, positioned herself between Charley and Jamie protectively.

Charley was actually about to give up and leave Josh alone until Merida came in. "Stop that right there, asshole!" She said before going to check on James and then running straight up to him, "Why don't you take someone your own size, fucker!?"

Charley looked behind her to see Josh running away, with a frown he turned towards Merida. "Look. You ruined all my fun." He said, crossing his arms and looking down the girl. She was trying to intimidate him, but it wasn't working. He stepped on her shadow so that he could have an escape route in case she did attack.

He was annoyed. He'd come to play with Josh. Not some pissed off female. People should know by now that he never harmed anyone. Hell. Even Josh knew he's never hurt him. He's just fun to mess with. Now that he was annoyed, he didn't even want that girl in his sight. He used the same trick he used on James, sending her to the same spot as him. Except this time, it didn't fully work. He saw that her foot was still stuck in the ground. She'd have to dig it out if she wanted it out, and he sure as wasn't going to help him.

"I'll fight one of you two later. Just not now." He called to Merida and James, a smirk on his lips.

Josh ran to the exit, a big iron gate with brick walls, casing the gate into place and he rested against the wall, his hair messed up from resting his head on it and he held his back stained left hand to his chest wincing in pain, sliding his right hand into a trouser pocket he took out a bottle of pills out from his pocket, opened the cap with a flick with his thumb and poured two pills into his left hand and threw them into his mouth and swallowed while he was slipping the pill bottle into his pocket again.

This was when he saw Charley pass him with a smirk on his face and he looked at him with a dagger filled glare before slipping pass him back through the gate and ran to James and Merida and started to dig out Merida's foot. ''Are you okay Mer? James what about you?'' He'd ask his voice wheezy from the pain he was currently having but he kept up his appearances as usual.

When he dug into the earth far enough he put his hands on Merida's ankle and pulled her foot from the earth and started wiping the dirt from her foot as well. ''You shouldn't of tried to help me you two...I know you meant well but I can...deal w-....with it okay?''

He would stand holding his chest hiding his pain with a long exhale of air from his lungs then he continued to speak. ''I know my power is a passive one but...it has its uses...''

"Tiresome, yes, but it also means he'll be all the more entertaining to beat. You know, I'm half hoping that he would be stupid enough to challenge either of us. I'd love to put him in his place."

Ozymandias couldn't help but laugh at the thought as he walked beside his friend. Yes, it would be an interesting challenge to face Hal Humble in a fight. Superspeed vs Teleportation. Their powers were similar, but both offered their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Ozzy, of course, was confident that he could beat him. He made it his business to learn of everyone's strengths and weaknesses, both physically and mentally.

"I feel that you would make an excellent opponent for him. How can he run when he cannot even touch the ground. Even lightening or weighing down the around the field should give him trouble," he reasoned.

Ozzy took in the sight before him. It was fascinating how quickly people grouped together for innocent and not-so-innocent reasons.

"What a waste."

"Charley is simply enacting his pathology. I suspect an Inferiority Complex," he told Abbey. He focused his attention on her for a brief moment. The way the sunlight seemed to highlight her hair. The sight was ineffable. Ozzy looked away, forcing an end to one of many moments which were becoming more and more frequent.

"Of course, he refuses to permit me to psychoanalyze him. For some unfathomable reason, he doesn't seem to trust me," he told her, an ironic smile forming on his face.

Really, sometimes he didn't think things through. One moment, he was mocking the prick that was harassing his best friend and the next, he felt like he was pulled into a blizzard at the North Pole: no light and no heat at all. He opened his eyes, finding himself 100 feet away from the scene. He cursed slightly, trying to push himself up. No one had ever used their powers to teleport him before and James decided that he didn't like it.

"Jamie, are you alright? Did that asshole do something to you? Oh my god, you're so cold..."

He looked up, smiling reassuringly at the girl talking to him. Like with Josh and Magnolia, Merida was a close friend and not just because they were in the same clique. She was just as impulsive as he was, if not moreso. Because of this, he felt extremely proud to see that Merida wasn't charging at Charley like he had. Perhaps she, unlike him, had learned to think before she acted.

"Why don't you take someone your own size, fucker!?"

Or, maybe not. James glanced at her hand. It looked like she froze some water to make a knife. Was that her power? Manipulating water? He had never seen her use her power before so he couldn't tell. It looked like she was going to tear into the prick, but Charley simply left. He smiled at Josh when he came running back. He stood up and gripped his friend's shoulder as he dug Merida's ankle out of the shadow it was stuck in.

''You shouldn't of tried to help me you two...I know you meant well but I can...deal w-....with it okay? I know my power is a passive one but...it has its uses...''

"Bullshit. You would have come running if it was me or Merida who was in trouble. That's what being a friend is. Oh, Jesus, I sound like some Disney Channel character," James joked lightly.

Josh would smile lightly for a moment as James talked as he finished digging Merida's foot from the ground then slowly he'd get to his feet holding his chest then put the strap of his leather satchel over his shoulder again and sigh in relief from the pain he kept concealed in him yet his icy blue hues showed it and his sleepless nights so subtlety as he looked at the ground for a moment then he'd look at James, the smile gone.

''Of course, but for me, I won't come running...'' He would smile looking at the ground holding the strap of his satchel tightly that his knuckles were white as he continued. ''I am not worthy of such a act, I am just....'' He would clear his throat and look up. ''So will I see you two at the Club? I will not be fighting but I would like to see, what I can learn....'' He would ask like he never say anything just before, seems like a touchy subject...

Then he'd hear the English teacher and turn to see the man coming to him and he would frown looking at the ground as the teacher paced to him in great speed.

''Mr. Woodward...your chauffeur is waiting to-'' He would look at James and Merida for a moment then back to Josh. ''To take you to your appointment. It is important, you know that.''

Josh would close his eyes. ''I don't want to go Sir.'' The Teacher would raise his brow and look at James and Merida again before talking once more. ''M- Josh...You have too, you know that. It is for your own good.'' The Teacher would sigh taking his work phone out and look at Josh. ''Don't make me call your father Josh.''

Josh would turn his head sharply to the English teacher and grit his teeth. ''Fine!....Fine...I will go...I don't need my dad involved.'' He would then turn away from the teacher who was now standing behind him. ''I will meet you both at the club...I have an appointment..'' He would turn and be followed from behind by the teacher, Josh was now in a bad mood..

As Josh was walked out from the gate of the school other students looked at him some giggled and the teacher opened the door of the black car. ''It is for you Josh..'' Josh would just nod and get sat into the car, putting his seat belt on and the teacher would shut the door of the car and turn to see the same giggling and pointing students back to normal and he would simply shake his head as he walked away....the car soon left with Josh inside...

"Well, it probably helps that they are a good bit younger than me, y'know? But I think that the problem is how overbearing you can be," Jason looked away, refusing to listen to Milo's words. He had always been rather stubborn about his point of views on things. Clenching his hands tightly, Jason waited for Milo to continue. "I mean, with Leia and Alex, I let them do what they want, so long as they aren't going to, y'know, injure themselves or something. They are their own people, not just my sisters," Jason opened his mouth to argue but finally decided against the idea. He didn't like fighting with his best friend. Both of them had a rather different views about things. And really, they could sit all day arguing about their differences. There were things that Jason accepted about Milo and vice versa. To be honest, it was a miracle on its own that the two of them could be best friends.

"Probably doesn't help that you keep trashing her friends, though," Jason laughed out loud at this. Oh, yes, that was probably correct. "Haha, you're probably true about that..." He nodded. Yeah, he knew that already. Trashing one's friends didn't really leave a good impression. However, he couldn't, really couldn't control his annoyance when he looked at Merida's friends. He still didn't understand what Merida saw in the bunch of them... because Jason seriously couldn't. He sent Milo a small smile and shrugged. "Let's drop it, kay? I don't feel like talking about her...I may consider your words later..."

"Best burgers and shakes in town- of course, the usual place," Jason chuckled at Milo's tactic, finding it amusing. He walked faster than Milo and called over his shoulder as he broke into a run "Race you there, Milo~ Winner gets a free meal!" He grinned and ran out of the school, determined not to lose to Milo in this silly race.

''You shouldn't of tried to help me you two...I know you meant well but I can...deal w-....with it okay?'' Josh said and tried to pull Merida's leg out of the soil.

"Oh come on, I can do it myself..." Merida said and shook her leg slightly, sending dirt everywhere. Punching Josh's shoulder lightly, she continued seriously. "Never say that again, okay? We are friends. We look out for each other... Even I don't go around and tell everybody that I can deal with everything myself." She held Jamie to get up and nodded in agreement with what he said.

"Bullshit. You would have come running if it was me or Merida who was in trouble. That's what being a friend is. Oh, Jesus, I sound like some Disney Channel character," Smirking, Merida joked lightly. "Yeah, and the next thing we know, you will start spilling stuffs about world peace and unicorns..." She patted Jamie's shoulder roughly and said. "However, I agree with Jamie. I won't ever abandon my friends. Never ever."

She coughed, looking terribly awkward by the 'cheesy' conversation. "Can we change subject now? Talking about mushy mushy things isn't my strong suit. I prefer my fist to my words..." As a teacher approached the group and took Josh with him, Merida turned to face Jamie. "Let's go to the Club first, shall we? We can find two seats for Maggie and Josh, too..." She picked up her school bag and slung it over her shoulder. She turned to face Jamie with a raised eyebrow as if asking 'Are you coming or what?'

"We may have to fight today, just so you know. I think I may have accidentally pissed off Labelle... He's a fucking sadomasochist if I have ever seen one and believe me... Pretty sure the bastard, Jason I mean, is one, too..." Merida informed at last as she remembered Charley's warning. Oh well, she would deal with it if he really challenged her. She was just worried that Jamie might hurt himself. She could probably take a few hits before she failed or something. However, unlike Jason, she didn't want to be hurt. Merida snorted and muttered under her breaths "Wanting to be hurt to get high... Why the fuck do I have to have such troublesome twin?"
